ParaParaParadise was the fourth dance game released by Konami, and one of two that did not require feet movement. Instead, ParaParaParadise used the "ParaPara" dance style for inspiration, which involves timed hand movements. As such, ParaParaParadise has five sensors (left, left-front, front, right-front, right) that players move their hands over as arrows move to the top of the screen, similarly to Dance Dance Revolution. ParaParaParadise was released towards the end of the BEMANI craze in Japan, and was one of the unlucky games that quickly met its demise. It lasted just 3 versions (1st, 1st Plus, and 2nd Mixes) in the arcade, and had a single home release for the PlayStation 2. |
