DJsyndrome.com soft launch
With the news and game database up and running, DJsyndrome.com is considered to have soft launched. While there is still a lot of information that will be added in the coming weeks, with the infrastructure active the site is ready for public consumption.

As far as the current state of the site goes, 98% of the basic game information has been added; only a few product numbers remain missing. Those missing product numbers have temporary information entered (which begins "temp-") so that the database works correctly. About 50% of the box art has been uploaded. No unlock information has been added, and no specific game descriptions are up.

Finally, as the site is currently aimed at home releases, there is no specific song information nor is there any information on specific arcade releases. Additionally, the BEMANI Pocket series is not covered; only home systems (e.g. PlayStation, PlayStation 2) and handheld systems (e.g. GameBoy) are covered under the current version of the site.

Beatmania IIDX11 IIDX RED officially announced for home consoles
After being strongly hinted at in DDR STR!KE, Konami announced the intended home release of beatmania IIDX11 IIDX RED in their most recent newsletter. Set for release on the PlayStation 2, IIDX RED will include all 52 songs from the arcade release (including licensed songs, which often do not make it to home machines), and will sport over 80 songs in all. No release date was announced, though the game is expected sooner rather than later.

IIDX RED is up for pre-order now at Play-Asia.com. Expect more on this title in the coming weeks.

Beatmania US delayed
Beatmania for the US PlayStation 2 has been delayed. Previously set for a March 16, 2006 release date, a number of retail and news sites recently moved the date to March 28, 2006. Officially Konami still lists the game as a generic "Spring 2006" release, so all of this is still subject to change.

Beatmania US box art revealed
Konami recently revealed the box art for the US PlayStation 2 version of beatmania, albeit at thumbnail resolution. The shadowed figure puts this art in line with the rest of the US BEMANI releases, and makes for a nice visual effect as well:

Beatmania US controller revealed
Orange Lounge Radio recently revealed a picture of the Konami Official Controller for beatmania for the US PlayStation 2.

As was expected from earlier artwork, the turntable side has been rounded off, but the external controller housing is otherwise identical to the Japanese controller. A few cosmetic changes were made to the face plate to reflect the lack of "IIDX" from the name and the US "DJ" logo.

Internally the controller is supposed to perform significantly better than the Japanese controller, including spring-loaded keys and a better turntable feel.

Beatmania is due for the US PlayStation 2 on March 16th, 2005.
